I see more and more unprepared people consecrating entheogens, people full of trauma, pain, and real holes in the soul, who decide to participate in an Ayahuasca ceremony, mushrooms, or any other psychedelic with spiritual purposes. After four years of living this reality almost full-time, I understood that power plants will not cure me, and they will not cure you either.
However, it shows the path to healing.
I’ve recently been struggling with binge eating, mainly due to sweets and carbohydrates… I decided to try to cure this issue at Kambo*. The facilitator explained that the ideal after applying Kambo is to follow a diet (post application) in which we remove sugar and fruits from the diet. This way the body has better opportunities for regeneration.
A few hours after Kambo’s ceremony, I was having an internal battle with my crazy desire to eat sweets. It seemed like the things I could theoretically eat just weren’t appealing to my hunger. And in fact, it wasn’t, because what my body was asking as for was sugar.
Soon after realizing the difficulty I was having in silencing my desire for sweets, I remembered some processes I saw people going through during the night. People who were taken by surprise by facing deep traumas that they carry in their souls.
Yes, psychedelics will show us the cure. But we are the ones who have to be strong enough to continue the battle. Give new meaning to the pain. Understand and accept our grief. Making changes on our behavior… no power plant will be able to do that for us.
And there are still people out there wanting to compete with each others, while we barely can be better than ourselves.
More important than consecrating our forest medicines is the work we do after we collect the information and learnings, so that the cure can happen… Inside out.
